This week, Sarah had her 6-month well-baby check up. She is 16 lbs 10 oz, 25.5 inches long. Getting big! Sarah learned some new tricks this week. She can't crawl, but she is moving around. If I set her down on her back, you'll find her on her tummy facing the opposite direction. She can turn herself in circles pretty good. Also, she has started this week to play her own version of peek-a-boo and it is darling. Another thing I have noticed is that she can twist and twirl her tongue around in her mouth- which is only interesting to me because I never could curl my tongue. She has me beat at that already.
James had his last baseball game of the season today. Chris told the kids that he didn't care if they won or lost, that he just wanted them to have fun today. So he let the kids play any position they wanted. James asked to play first base. It was his first time playing first base and he did great! It was a little bittersweet. Although I was ready for the season to be over, I will miss it too... until next year.
Tonight is the American Cancer Society's relay for life event. Chris and I will be taking our turn to walk at 1:00 a.m. My sister is spending the night with our kids. Is it weird that I am excited because it feels like a date? Ok it is a little weird, but when you have little ones, any time alone is exciting.
Sarah starts swim lessons Monday through Infant Swim Resource. Having a pool can be scary. It doesn't take a totally negligent parent for an accident to happen, so we are trying to be proactive about pool safety and survival skills. A couple years ago, I saw a couple children that had been through this program and it was amazing. I am nervous and excited. Wish us luck!
